Welcome

Welcome to St Joseph’s, Carryduff and thank you for taking the time to visit our website.  You will be able to access a wide range of information about life in our school which, hopefully, you will find helpful.

The ‘Principal’s Message’ sets out our Mission Statement and the Aims which underpin the educational provision in St Joseph’s.  The Principal also shares how our school community works together to make that vision a reality through the learning experiences which are provided for the children.

The ‘News’ section provides regular updates about the various activities undertaken by the children in all of the Year Groups.   Information about the children’s achievements and announcements about any upcoming events are also included.

The ‘Parents’ Information’ section contains a list of key dates, the school dinner menu, guidance about healthy eating and details of the after school activities.  The policies and procedures which govern important aspects of our work are also included in this section along with the School Prospectus which provides detailed information about all aspects of school life.  The Board of Governors’ Annual Report to Parents will give you an overview of the work of the school during the past year and an account of how the Board of Governors, school management and staff have carried out their responsibilities.  Finally, you will be able to read the Education and Training Inspectorate’s report of its most recent inspection of St Joseph’s.

The ‘Calendar’ is updated on a monthly basis and includes information about any upcoming events.

By clicking on the ‘Our Staff’ button you will be able to view the staff list and the ‘Meet the Classes’ section contains photographs of all our classes.

Our ‘Welcome to Nursery’ and ‘Welcome Primary One’ videos are a great way for new pupils to become familiar with their classroom and the school building.  In these videos some of our older pupils provide a virtual tour of the school and explain some of the school’s routines.  View our ‘Happy Video’ too and you will be able to see our school community happily at work.

Music is an important part of life in St Joseph’s and we are very proud of the accomplishments of our orchestra, concert band, recorder group and choir.  By clicking on the ‘Spring Concert’ video you will be able to hear our musical ensembles performing and we are sure you will enjoy the show!!!

Child Protection and Safeguarding is a key responsibility for all members of our school community and, an increasingly important aspect of this work, is supporting the children to stay safe on line.  Our School Council have produced helpful guidance for the pupils and they have presented these key messages in their eSafety videos.  These provide helpful reminders to us all of the important steps to take in order to keep ourselves safe online.

For those wishing to take a walk down ‘Memory Lane’, the Gallery contains photographs and videos from previous years.
